About Talia
With 7 years of teaching experience and a BSc in Mathematics with Actuarial Science, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for discrete mathematics and its importance in computer science. My focus areas include logic, set theory, graph theory, and combinatorics. I guide students in understanding how these topics drive algorithms, cryptography, and network theory. My lessons are crafted to build reasoning, creativity, and precision. I’ve had the privilege of mentoring computer science students who use discrete mathematics to solve real-world problems. We explore how logic structures programming and how mathematical proofs form the basis for efficient code. I aim to make abstract theory both visual and meaningful. Through clear explanations and relatable examples, students begin to connect math to modern computation. My goal is to replace confusion with clarity and hesitation with confidence. Every session builds stronger problem-solving skills and analytical depth. Discrete mathematics is not just a subject—it’s a mindset. Let’s make it the foundation for your success in algorithms and data science.

The teaching methodology focuses on making math relevant to computational thinking and programming. Lessons cover discrete mathematics, logic, combinatorics, graph theory, and algorithmic thinking. Concepts are taught using coding analogies to help learners relate abstract ideas to real processes. Architect learners are encouraged to design structures and systems, while proof seekers explore reasoning in a natural way. The approach is relaxed but precise, emphasizing understanding and clarity. Students engage in hands-on exercises that link mathematical thinking to algorithms and data structures. Each topic is broken down into clear, manageable steps. Learners gain confidence in analyzing, designing, and debugging logical problems. Mistakes are viewed as opportunities to deepen understanding. Communication skills are strengthened as students explain reasoning comfortably. Lessons balance theory, application, and exploration. The methodology fosters creativity, persistence, and analytical thinking. By the end, math feels relevant, approachable, and part of a digital toolkit. Students leave prepared to excel in computational challenges.
