About Simon
Let me tell you about myself! I’ve got a lot of attention and energy to give. I’ve always liked helping people in need and giving that little morale boost to get through tough moments. I’m also a funny guy, so you shall not sleep during our tutoring sessions.
I’m often compared to a chameleon because I can adapt to my environment—and that goes for my vibe as much as for my teaching practices. I’ve taught at different levels (high school, college, university) and have built up a large knowledge base. Math is a very broad field, so preparing in advance is the key to helping me help you.
My first language is French, but I can speak to you in English—with just a little French Canadian accent. :D

Background: master's degree in mathematics, researcher and teacher for high school, college and undergrad maths. Language: French and English Specialties: Calculus, algebra, combinatorics, analysis and probability up to undergrad levels. I could help you with graduate courses if they are in my field (Number theory, combinatorics). What sets me apart from other tutors is that I have trained with all kinds of minds and also have taught many students in difficulties and helped them get their diplomas. All this experience helped me adapt the contents of the lessons to a format that would be more suitable for you. Establishing a good teacher/student relation is also proven to improve the teaching's effectiveness. I know that math can be a pain for many students and standard courses aren't always adapted to everybody and can feel sometimes disconnected from the real world. That's why it will be my duty to learn about you and construct examples, develop ways of thinking and strategies adapted to YOUR needs. Before the tutoring session: - Send me the notions that you would need help with. - Examples of misunderstanding or examples unclear showed in class - TELL ME HOW YOU ARE FEELING The typical lesson plan is as follows: - Brief discussion on previous notions worked on, if they are truly mastered. - Working on the current problems you are facing - Planning the next course of action or what you are going to need help with. Optional: If needed, we could construct a long-term plan in the form of a tree to keep track of the progress you made!
