Ques..An iron pipe is 21cm long and its external diameter is 8cm. If the thickness of pipe is 1cm and iron weighs 8g/cm^3,find the weight of the pipe.
Solution-external radius of pipe=4cm {diameter=8cm}
Thickness of the pipe=1cm
Internal radius of the pipe=(4-1)cm=3cm
External volume=(22/7*4*4*21)=1056 cm^3 {vol.of cylinder=pie(r^2)l
Internal volume=(22/7*3*3*21)=594cm^3
Vol.of metal=(external volume)-(internal volume)
=(1056-594)=462cm^3
Weight of the pipe=(462*8)g=(462*8/1000)kg=3.696kg
