About Tom

While this will be my first step into tutoring, I am confident I have the skillset to help students of all ages and abilities. I have spent many hours helping younger relatives and fellow peers to improve not only their mathematical capabilities, but develop new ways of learning that make Maths a more enjoyable experience.

My relevant qualifications include A* in Methods in Mathematics GCSE, A* in Applications of Mathematics GCSE, A* in Further Mathematics GCSE, A* in Mathematics A-level and A* in Further Mathematics A-level.

I aim to help students of all ages and abilities whether they're hoping to achieve their best possible potential or just looking to pass an exam. It is common knowledge that everyone learns in different ways and so I find it important to accommodate any style of learning.

Having just completed GCSEs and A-levels myself, I can empathise with the difficulties and struggles a student can go through during these times and as a result, I believe that teaching someone how to approach the content within a topic is equally as vital as the content itself.

How a lesson is planned depends on mostly on what the student feels they would most like to do. For example, if a student feels like they don't understand a new topic quite as well as they should, they may ask to be taught again from a different perspective. Or if they feel they have forgotten the fundamentals of an old topic then they might like to go back over it to refresh it in their mind.
