About Zenda
I'm an MOE teaching scholar with experience teaching Literature and History in four secondary schools in Singapore. I also have experience tutoring several Secondary- and JC- level students over 10 years in solo and group settings. I'm very comfortable with online tuition sessions as well.
In my free time, I'm also a playwright with a local Singapore theatre company and have my works officially published!
Education: BA (Hons) in English Literature from the National University of Singapore (1st), PGDE (Secondary) from National Institute of Education (Distinction), MSc Literature and Modernity from University of Edinburgh (Results Pending)

While my fundamental goal is to help my students achieve the grades they desire for their internal/national assessments, I enjoy helping them find a way to enjoy and appreciate literary works. I can empathise with the struggle to connect to a subject and not ‘get’ the value of it, but I am happy to say that all my tutees have not only graduated with exceptional results, but have ended their tuition journey with a greater love for literature. (My most recent Sec 4 student, who wanted to swear off literature, ended up developing a passion for the subject through tuition and taking up H2 Literature when she enrolled in a JC!)
I take the time to understand the specific challenges each student is facing and customise my lessons and worksheets to cater to these needs. Lessons involve lots of discussion and collaborative analysis, and writing practices which I provide immediate feedback on.
I communicate consistently and effectively with parents. I understand that parents might not be extremely familiar with the school syllabus or how to address the subject demands. I am always happy to keep parents updated about their child's/ward's progress, and adjust my lessons to suit their requests.
