About Liam
Hi there,
I have been invested in English from a very young age and have always endeavored to share that passion with others. My interests are geared more towards the literature and creative writing side of the subject, which has motivated me to pursue them both academically and recreationally. Through my teaching, I aim to inspire my students to engage with English in the hopes that they will be able to enjoy the subject as much as I do.
I firmly believe in constructing sessions that are both enjoyable and educational. By adopting a personal and active approach to teaching, I am able to cater to individual student's unique abilities, allowing them to reach their full potential and achieve success.

I have a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Birmingham and have experience in teaching secondary school students in small groups and 1:1 sessions.
My time working as an academic mentor for a local school instilled in me a passion for teaching and discovering creative ways to engage students in lessons. I predominately worked with students affected by SEND or language barriers. This helped me to develop inclusive and accessible lesson plans that cater to every student's needs.
I also have significant experience preparing students for their English Literature and Language GCSE examinations. This included marking students' mock examinations, an experience that allowed me to become familiar with OCR exam boards specifications.
My lessons typically run for one hour and are heavily focused on individual students' needs and abilities. I am committed to offering a personal, warm, and patient approach to teaching that encourages students to take an interest in their own learning.
