About Brayden

I am Brayden De La Garza, a 2-year drum major and a music major. I was accepted into college at 13 years old, but my music career started in 6th grade when I first asked to play the French Horn- the school gave me a clarinet so, spitefully, I have sunk thousands of hours into every instrument in the band. My expertise comes straight from prestigious directors, DCI members, and music doctors alike.

Music is what I do and as a drum major with OCD parents I have always been sharp with the details. My band and director alike count on me to point out the details that turn a good player into a great player.

(I can teach: Flute basics, Double reed basics, Clarinet family, Saxophone family, High brass, and Low brass. As well as conducting techniques, teaching techniques, theory, marching, and other music fields!)

About the lesson

My teaching methods boil down to making sure everything is perfect. A typical lesson plan may look something like introduction of the topic and its importance, followed by a few attempts to get it under our fingers, and then repetitions and corrections until the student cannot get it wrong if they tried.

What sets me apart as a tutor is I will always be ahead. I started high school band early, I started college early, and I have been mastering every instrument and facet of music theory since I was young.

My lessons are for people ranging from looking for somewhere to start all the way to experienced people needing eyes on their technique- if you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Brayden and I go way back, so believe me when I say they really know their stuff. I remember when, as a complete newbie to the clarinet, not only were they very understanding and polite, they had me consistently making acceptable noise with the instrument in a very short time. They do a great job of identifying places where you might be making mistakes, and helping you to make improvements. All in all, I recommend Brayden.
