About Dr Rajani

I studied medicine and became a Dentist, but soon realized that most treatments only addressed symptoms on the surface, while the true root cause remained untouched.

Coming from a family of Yogis, I was introduced to meditation in childhood and began my self-practice of asanas in 2016. My hunger for deeper yogic wisdom led me to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Yoga (1 year) from Maharishi University and an Internationally Certified 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.
Through this journey, I discovered that yoga is not just exercise, it is a way of living. I believe yoga is for everyone regardless of age, fitness level, or health condition.

Yoga is life. Yoga is breath. To honor yourself, to truly live, choose yoga.

 With my medical background combined with yogic training, my classes are designed on the foundation of science + medicine + yog. I focus on teaching the true essence of yoga while also tailoring practices for specific needs.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

    I truly feel that yoga teaches us about LIFE. When we learn yoga deeply, we begin to understand life and how to live it in a beautiful and balanced way. I was connected to meditation since childhood because of my family background, but I became seriously involved in yoga when I was facing some physical and mental health challenges. I had already spent a lot on modern medicines and treatments, yet I did not feel complete healing.

    When I started practicing yoga sincerely, I experienced benefits at a much deeper level — not just physical relief, but emotional healing, happiness, and inner peace. That is when I realised the true power of yoga.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

    My biggest motivation to teach yoga is the power of yoga itself. The transformation it brings is real and beautiful. Many people do not know its true essence until they experience it personally.

    In today’s world, stress is the root cause of many diseases. Yoga works deeply on stress and helps remove it from the root level. Helping people experience this inner transformation inspires me to teach every day.
  • How does your work help society?

    Through my work, I try to help people bring balance, love, softness, and lightness into their lives. Yoga helps individuals become more calm, kind, patient, and emotionally stable.

    If there is more peace inside a person, there will naturally be fewer conflicts outside. I believe yoga is the foundation of a happy, meaningful, and fulfilling life.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

    My role model is Swami Sivananda, a great saint from South India who was also a qualified medical doctor. Before becoming a spiritual master, he served poor and needy patients with deep compassion. He later founded the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh and dedicated his life to spreading yoga, meditation, and selfless service.

    What inspires me most about him is his spirit of selfless service. He believed that serving humanity is serving God. His life was devoted to the health, happiness, and spiritual upliftment of society. As both a doctor and a yoga teacher, I feel deeply connected to his path of combining medical knowledge with compassion and service.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

    I love singing, dancing (even though I am not professionally trained), laughing wholeheartedly, and playfully teasing my siblings and loved ones. I believe joy and lightness are also an important part of life.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

    One of the most touching moments in my teaching journey was when a student returned to class after the sudden and tragic loss of her mother in an accident. She was away from class for about one and a half months.

    When she came back, she told me that it was only because of the yoga and meditation practices that she was able to handle such a sudden shock and deep grief. Without that inner strength, she felt it would have been extremely difficult to cope.

    Her words deeply moved me. In that moment, I truly realised that yoga is not just about physical health — it supports the mind and heart during the most painful phases of life. It strengthened my belief in this path and reaffirmed my purpose as a teacher — to help people build inner resilience and emotional stability.
