About Santiago
I believe the best way to learn science is to understand the reasoning behind it, not simply memorize facts. Whether you're preparing for an exam, writing a thesis, learning Python for life sciences, or tackling a challenging research project, I'll provide patient, structured, and personalized guidance. My goal is not only to help you succeed in your current course but also to develop the scientific thinking and problem-solving skills that will benefit you throughout your career. I teach in English and Spanish, adapting each lesson to your background, pace, and objectives. You can expect a professional, supportive, and engaging learning environment where no question is too simple and every session is focused on helping you gain confidence and achieve your goals.

I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven, where my research focused on molecular biology, synthetic biology, and nucleic acid technologies. I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven, developing molecular diagnostics and biosensor technologies for infectious diseases. Before moving into academic research, I worked for four years in industrial biotechnology, first in quality control and later in research and development. I specialized in the development and validation of biological indicators for sterilization monitoring under ISO and GMP standards, contributing to the creation of four FDA-approved medical products. Thanks to this combination of industrial, doctoral, and postdoctoral experience, I can help students connect theoretical concepts with real research and biotechnology applications. My lessons are adapted to each student's level and goals. I aim not only to help solve an immediate problem, but also to develop scientific reasoning, confidence, and independence.
