About Elias

I recently graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a First Class degree in Physics and I am keen on sharing my enthusiasm for learning physics. I truly believe it develops fundamental skills, such as analytical skills, which are incredibly important in a variety of careers. I have participated in mentoring schemes during my studies, helping groups and individuals on their problem sets to fully grasp difficult concepts within physics so that they are more confident in their exams. These weekly sessions proved to be very beneficial as most of the student's grades increased and, over two years, the average degree classification increased within our department after implementing the new study sessions. I studied all natural sciences and mathematics at GCSE's and A-level and I will be happy to assist with other topics in science such as chemistry.

I am happy to teach all physics in Key Stage 4 through to A-level as well as students who are transitioning to university level and may be in their first couple years of university. I enjoy teaching in a way that allows the student to actively participate and engage to make the lesson both interesting for them and thought-provoking. I believe it is important to enjoy what you are studying to help remember things and to motivate yourself to reach further.

My lesson structure would incorporate briefly reviewing past material to follow on to the next material, with an initial introduction and example problem given. Then time would be given for the student to work through the example and show their understanding before working on a new problem and reviewing it to identify areas to work on.
