About Kania
I am a third year college student, who is currently majoring in Cognitive Science on the Pre-Medical Path. I have tutored students in high school and in college previously, specifically in General Chemistry, Mathematics (Up to Calculus 1), Biology and more ! I also minor in Psychology so I can help with Humanities Classes as well.
I have been tutoring students for the past four years and have had other experience though working in the STEM tutoring program at my college, along with working in a biology lab at UCLA. My student have shown improvement through their grades alone, but also through their understanding of the subject.

Generally, I try to get a full understanding of what the student is having trouble with and try to simplify the subject to assist the students ability to grasp the subject. By picking apart the elements of the class I can pin point the students trouble area and then we work to strengthen that area. I try to use figures, videos, and other learning devices to break down the subject. Sometimes I will reteach the subject area in a way that better suits the needs of the student like making consecutive lesson plans, giving simple homework to get extra practice outside of the session and also taking into the learning preference of the student (eg. Audio or Visual Learners). I feel as if each student is unique in learning their own and so customizing each session to tailor the needs of each student is very important to really get the most out of each session.
