My teaching methodology is to understand which topics the student finds the most challenging and try and tackle the roots of each challenge area. I do this by making sure they understand the basics of the topic area and then encouraging practice and repetition to ensure the student becomes confident in what they had been previously struggling with.
I am a sophomore at Princeton University from the United States. I am very passionate about math. I have tutored students in math for 5 years of various backgrounds, ranging from middle school students struggling with course work to high school students who are top ranked in the math competition circuit eager learning about theoretical math.
I am very passionate about teaching students math taught in the school system and coaching students interested in competition math.
In my experience with math tutoring for the past 5 years, I have tutored students in both middle school and high school. I was a counselor at one of the most prestigious math camps in the world, Ross Mathematics Program, where I taught and graded the work of high school students who excelled in math. I then went on to start and lead a program in which high school students proficient in math taught other high school students. As the leader of this program I created lesson plans that focused on both the math taught in the school system and content in the math competition circuit that students are not normally exposed to (AMC and AIME).
