About SY
SY is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor. She practises and teaches Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, breathworks & pranayama and meditation. She currently teaches group classes at a studio in Bangsar and in the neighbourhood of Desa Parkcity.
SY began yoga very late in her life after a bad knee saga from a long hike. Yoga helped her regain strength, mobility and flexibility, eventually realising that the holistic practise helped her with all aspects of the body and mind.
She is passionate about the study of human bio-mechanics and physiology, often applying these knowledge when planning lessons. She believes that the better we understand our body, the more effective our yoga practise becomes. She is an advocate of safe yoga practices with the motto "no pain is the gain".
