About Tsui

Hi, I’m Jude, a passionate piano tutor who believes that music is not just a skill to learn, but a way to express yourself.

Despite being 16, I have developed many years of experience and dedication in music. Having grown up with both of my parents being music teachers, music has always been a significant part of my life. Through watching them teach and inspire others, I have seen first-hand the positive impact that music can have on people.

I believe that learning an instrument is a valuable and much-needed skill, as music provides a unique way for people to express their emotions and develop creativity. Beyond the musical benefits, playing the piano also encourages discipline, patience, and concentration. The focus and problem-solving skills developed through learning music can support students in other areas of their lives, including their academic studies.

I have achieved ABRSM Grade 8 Piano and Grade 5 Music Theory (Distinction), and I have experience helping younger students develop their piano skills. Being a student myself, I understand the challenges learners face and aim to create a supportive and approachable environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and improving at their own pace.

My teaching style focuses on building strong foundations while keeping lessons enjoyable and personalised. I hope to inspire students not only to learn pieces, but also to develop confidence, musical understanding, and a genuine love for playing.

About the lesson

I offer piano lessons for students from Year 4 to Year 9, particularly those working towards ABRSM Grades 1–5 or looking to build a strong foundation in piano.

Lessons typically last 30 minutes to 1 hour
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each individual. I break down new techniques into simple, manageable steps and focus on building confidence alongside good playing habits. I believe learning should be enjoyable, so I adapt my lessons to each student's pace while ensuring steady progress.

Although I am a new professional tutor, I have experience helping my younger siblings, friends, and classmates with both schoolwork and music. They have found my explanations clear, helpful, and easy to understand, and I enjoy finding different ways to explain concepts until they make sense.
