About Joel
Currently working in a secondary school as deputy head of maths. I eat, drink and sleep maths, studying for a master's in maths in my spare time as a hobby! I am passionate about making my love of maths contagious for my students. My A level class had the greatest results in the school with highest value added. I achieved this by meeting students where they are at and building their confidence, changing their perception of themselves. I am also neurodivergent myself and have a special affinity for working with other neurodivergent pupils who struggle to reach their potential in a classroom environment.

I love maths and my goal is that my students will not only achieve highly academically but also be inspired by the beauty of maths and its real world applications. My lessons will be delivered in collaboration with my students, building their confidence in helping them achieve their goals. I am familiar with the challenges a classroom environment can pose for many students, especially those who are neurodivergent, and I am sensitive to these different needs.

Joel has more than 10 years experience of teaching and is an engaging and passionate tutor. Who knows how to capture the attention of students and keep them engaged in their subject. He is knowledgeable and fun to work with. You can trust that his students will enjoy their time improving their knowledge and grades. I do not hesitate to recommend him.
He taught me throughout my A levels where I did both maths and further maths. I got A* in both. I haven't had met anyone who is so authentically excited about maths and keen to share his knowledge. I think he is excellent at teaching as he breaks down concepts well to makes sure you really understand ideas whilst also getting you excited to learn by taking maths into the real world and showing why this stuff is important.
Joel is kind, supportive and fun. He makes an effort to include and engage everyone and makes lessons entertaining. He teaches clearly and confidently, providing further support when needed.
Joel provided an excellent service for my son, how on occasion found difficulty in the subject of maths. He guided through the necessary content, tailoring his tuitions to help tackle the subjects my son found the most difficult, leading to him succeeding in GCSE Maths. Joel is patient, kind and most of all, an excellent tutor. I highly recommend his services.
Joel is excited about maths and it's catching. Zack has been seeing him weekly for a while now and he has such a different perspective. He used to think he was bad at maths and now he loves it. He has a much deeper understanding of concepts, Joel explains things clearly and at the same time guides him to figure it out himself.
I was tutored by Joel to pass both As and A2 mathematics in a single year in order to meet university entrance requirements.
