My teaching methodology is based on the A-level curriculum and below and will use similar methods to the ones I was taught which stood me in good stead for my exams. I am a patient teacher and can help grow understanding of the subject or help talk through your work for School.
I am an Economics graduate, and within this degree took multiple difficult maths based courses including statistics and Econometrics. This has added on to my ability after achieving high As in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics in A-level. I have taught students aspects of the A-level course before with confidence.
I have recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh where I studied Economics and I am eager to progress into tutoring. I am a quick learner, work well under pressure and with integrity and think I would be an excellent fit for a tutoring position. I have excellent interpersonal skills which have been helpful when working closely with clients in the past and I develop strong and lasting relationships. Amongst my greatest strengths are my organisational skills, strong work ethic and methodical approach to work and challenges. I believe these will stand me in good stead to make a positive impact in becoming a tutor.
My interest in this field was sparked whilst helping tutor a couple of GCSE students in Chemistry and Maths, using techniques that I learnt whilst I was at school. I would like to continue to develop this interest and the Helen Grogan Tuition can provide this opportunity.

My main body of work was researching into the effect that pretrial detention can have on people and their families in the USA. My research found that the system has negative effects on low income households as well as African American communities. The negative effects that pretrial detention can have can further exacerbate the poverty in these communities. This dissertation went on to
compare to other countries and to discuss why the system should be changed and why there is resistance to this change. This dissertation greatly improved my research and writing skills.
