About Nicole
Kia ora I am Nicole, a registered New Zealand secondary Science teacher with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a passion for helping students develop confidence and a genuine interest in science. I have experience teaching students across Years 10–13, including Junior Science, Cambridge Science, and NCEA Science and Biology.
As a classroom teacher, I understand the skills and knowledge students need to succeed in assessments and exams. I have developed a wide range of high-quality resources, activities, and assessment materials that support student success. I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their understanding.
Alongside my classroom teaching, I run an extension science programme that challenges students to develop deeper scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and curiosity beyond the standard curriculum. Whether a student needs support building foundations, wants to improve their grades, or is aiming for Excellence and extension opportunities, I tailor lessons to their individual needs.

My approach to teaching is centered around building confidence, curiosity, and a deep understanding of science. As a registered secondary Science teacher and Biomedical Science graduate, I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind scientific concepts rather than simply memorizing information.
I use a personalized, student-centered approach where lessons are adapted to each learner’s goals, strengths, and areas for improvement. I break down complex ideas into scaffolded steps, use real-world examples to make science meaningful, and encourage students to explain their thinking to develop strong scientific reasoning skills.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, allowing enough time to introduce concepts, practice skills, and apply learning through questions and activities. Longer sessions can be arranged.
