About Stacie
Anyone and everyone can learn how biological and chemical systems work. After years focused on cancer research and teaching at the university level, I spent a decade helping elected officials understand the science they fund and the policies necessary to fuel biomedical discoveries. That experience brought me back to the basics. Friends and family were asking for help with their otherwise high achieving kids who were struggling with science classes. That made me rethink how we teach (or don't teach) the concepts of how all living things function and interact.
It is immensely rewarding to see someone break through the complexity of science and get how it applies in their own lives. That's my strategy for helping anyone of any age and any education background to "get" how science applies to them.

Science is simply a way to understand ourselves and the world in which we function. Breaking through the jargon and seeing how it fits into the bigger picture of life is my approach. I've taught students at the graduate level, undergraduate, and K-12. How I teach is based on the individual and how they best learn.
