About Chhaya
I have worked as a tutor in a centre for 9 months, with students aged 4 to 14, specifically tutoring multiple creative writing classes with 6-8 children in each of these classes. There was a clear improvement in spelling and punctuation of each child as I mark work thoroughly and give constructive feedback on each piece; additionally, students felt more confident using impressive vocabulary, adventurous punctuation and descriptive techniques in their work.

I am a sixth form student, currently studying science and maths but with a keen interest in reading and creative writing for fun. I have always loved writing, especially in the fantasy genre, and would like to share this with primary and secondary students as an extra-curricular activity or in preparation for English exams. I will introduce a new stimulus and first have brainstorming sessions around the topic, thinking about and practicing the skills needed to write about the stimulus, and the different perspectives it could be written from. Together, we would work towards writing a final piece that a student can feel proud of; we will evaluate these pieces after so we can improve our writing for our next piece!
