About Ali
I am currently a tutor at the University of Amsterdam, and have taught several subject areas in the social sciences: political science, international relations, statistics, and economics. I have also taught in the US, UK and the Netherlands! I studied PPLE (Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics) at the University of Amsterdam, and also studied Liberal Arts at NYU. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and consider a fun, open environment as key to academic success!

My teaching method is based on a question and answer format - instead of always giving you the answer, I want you to get there yourself, and also work on your thinking process (I learnt this method during my philosophy courses at NYU).
The lessons then, are based on a friendly discussion, free from pressure and perfectionism. I firmly believe in an open, friendly and inviting teaching atmosphere. I have taught at universities, private organisations, and also taught young individuals in the criminal justice system to help them attain their GED. I thus have experience in a variety of settings.
