About Gavin
I hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and currently serve as a postdoctoral research scholar at Stanford University School of Medicine. My training includes advanced work in molecular biology, physiology, pharmacology, and translational medicine.
I have taught Anatomy & Physiology laboratories, led Supplemental Instruction sessions in Organic and Biochemistry, and mentored students from middle school through graduate and medical training. Across every level, I prioritize clarity, accountability, and measurable progress.

My approach focuses on understanding first, memorization second. As a Stanford postdoctoral scholar and PhD-trained biochemist, I teach students how to think through biology and chemistry by breaking complex topics into clear, logical steps.
A typical lesson begins with identifying areas of confusion, followed by targeted concept review, guided problem-solving, and exam-style practice. I make sure students can explain the material back in their own words before we move on.
What sets me apart is that I actively work in biomedical research and have taught Anatomy & Physiology, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and mentored students from high school through graduate level. I connect molecular concepts to physiology, medicine, and real-world application so the material actually makes sense.
