I am a 4th year (Senior) Biomedical Engineer at the University of Texas at Dallas
Currently planning on getting my Masters at the Johns Hopkins University through the Urban Teachers Program
I have been a private MATH tutor for almost 4 years! Although this is a side gig because I am a full time student, I have always loved to teach and have invested tremendous amount of effort to make sure that my students excelled.

As an engineering student, I am always trying out new methods that will produce the best results in the easiest way possible. With the mindset, I tackle each student's weaknesses through a simple technique.
1) Give the student a chance to express his weaknesses through sample problems: this allows for me to get an understanding of where to start and to pick a specific area to focus on
2) Talk through the backbone principles of the subject: if the students do not know what the questions are asking, it is most likely they do not know the underlying concepts like the equations and theorems.
3) Tackle problems!: I like to go into problems last, otherwise the students feel OVERWHELMED and feel confused yet again or end up missing similar questions because they would only be able to solve the SAME problem
4) MORE PROBLEMS: practice makes perfect!

John is a great teacher, I would recommend! Aside from being more than competent, he is patient, makes the learning experience fun, and genuinely wants to see his students learn.
John really knows how to break down the concept at hand and explain it in such a way that not only will it be easy to understand, it will stick very easy. During the time I received tutorials from John, I was able to grasp very complex topics fairly easy and it helped that John was also patient and very easy going! Would 10/10 recommend!
Knowledgeable in core mathematic courses including Calculus I through III. Does not hesitate to explain the materials until you fully understand the concepts.
