About Samuel
I’m a theoretical physicist who genuinely loves teaching and sharing the beauty of mathematics and physics. I enjoy helping students move beyond memorising formulae to actually understanding how and why things work. My teaching is friendly, patient, and adapted to each student, whether they are building confidence from the ground up or exploring advanced ideas. I particularly enjoy solving challenging problems together and seeing the moment when a difficult concept finally clicks. Having taught from GCSE to honours degree level, I bring both academic depth and practical teaching experience. My goal is simple: to make learning enjoyable, rewarding, and empowering.

My Teaching Approach
I believe mathematics and physics should be engaging, accessible, and rewarding. My lessons are dynamic and varied, with a strong focus on problem-solving and developing genuine understanding rather than simply learning procedures.
My aim is to help students become more confident, independent thinkers who can approach unfamiliar problems calmly and logically. Whether a student is preparing for an important exam, struggling with a particular topic, or looking to push their understanding to a higher level, I tailor my teaching to their individual needs, ability, and goals.
Having taught students from GCSE through to honours degree level, I have developed a strong intuition for how to communicate ideas to students with very different levels of experience and confidence. I enjoy taking complex concepts and breaking them down into clear, manageable steps, while also showing students how different ideas connect and fit together.
I make use of modern, pedagogically appropriate technology and teaching techniques, including flipped learning and interactive whiteboards, to create lessons that are interactive and engaging. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and exploring ideas — because this is often where the deepest learning takes place.
Most importantly, I want students to leave each lesson feeling that they understand something they previously found difficult, and with greater confidence in their ability to solve problems independently.
