About Callum

I’m a third-year Computer Science and Business student at Stirling, based in Aberdeen off term time. Most of my time outside lectures goes into building actual software, things like a CRM search tool for Ad Businesses, java GUIs, and Python scripts for Stock market analysis. So I’m not just teaching stuff I read in a textbook! It’s stuff I use day to day. Before uni I spent two years teaching kids to swim, which taught me more about explaining things patiently than any course has. I’m easy enough to get on with and I’d much rather you ask a “silly” question than sit there stuck (I've been there too!)

About the lesson

I like to keep lessons practical rather than a "lecturey style". We will work through real problems together so concepts stick, with coding I like getting you writing wee working programmes pretty early on, even if it’s basic stuff, because that’s usually when it starts making sense. With maths it’s normally about finding the exact bit you’re stuck on rather than going back over everything from scratch. I’ll always leave you with something small to have a go at before next time!
