Hi! I’m Jon, a 2nd year engineering student at Warwick University. I’ve been tutoring students for 4 years now, having tutored students at all levels - from A-level to 7 years old, and helped all gain the results they deserve, while also trying to pass on my enthusiasm for the subject. Your first tutoring sessions will start by establishing what you want to achieve from the sessions – what exam you’re preparing for, what you already know and what topics you want to cover. It’ll also give us a chance to get to know each other a bit!
Before each session, I will prepare specific material for the tutee – what areas I like to cover and how. The session will start with a recap of last time, and then straight into the new topics, starting with theory. I strongly believe that the best way to learn is through practice, so most of the tutorial we will work through questions, building up knowledge to tackle harder and harder questions, finishing with past exam questions. The 1-to-1 environment of a personal tutoring session is perfect for this! This has been very effective with past students, but everyone learns differently, so I will tailor the method to whatever suits you. I look forward to hearing from you!
