About Shailja
I'm an engineering graduate with over a decade of corporate professional experience, and a passion for making math approachable. As a parent, I guided my own son from disliking math to enjoying it as fun learning — helping him qualify for a Gifted and Talented program. I bring both my corporate, real-world perspective and patient, personalized teaching approach to every student — helping them build not just math skills, but the problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities they'll need for the future.

As an engineering graduate, I've used math extensively in real, applied contexts — not just in theory, which helps me explain concepts in ways that make practical sense to students, not just abstract rules to memorize. I'm also a parent who has personally guided my own son through self-study at home — he initially didn't enjoy math, but through patient, personalized guidance, he now approaches it as fun learning and has qualified for a Gifted and Talented program. That experience taught me firsthand how to turn math anxiety into genuine curiosity, and I bring that same patient, adaptable approach to every student I work with. My goal isn't just to help with the next test — it's to build lasting confidence and a real love of learning that stays with the student long after our sessions end.
