About Nancy
Hi, my name is Nancy, and I am a graduate of the University of Chicago, Class of 2019, majoring in Statistics. I enjoy working with children, seeing them develop as a student and as a person, and giving students the opportunity to learn more about their own potentials and abilities. I am bilingual with fluency in Chinese, as well as limited proficiency with Spanish and French.
During high school, my summers, and in college, I have worked as a tutor for many kids, whether it's SHSAT math, help with reading or writing, or other various topics. As the eldest in my family, I often tutor my two younger sisters with math and reading when necessary and find pride in their accomplishments. I believe that I am a great candidate because I attended Stuyvesant High School (NYC's #1 specialized high school), and scored 800 (full score) on the math portion of the SAT both times. During my time at Stuyvesant, I was enrolled in all honors math classes and took Advanced Placement Calculus BC, and was in the after school competitive math team.

My approach as a tutor is to really understand the fundamentals because this is where the foundation will build on. Once that is established, I will work with students to target their weak areas to focus on where we can improve and build on practice methods or ways to approach the same topic from different angles.
