About Jonathan
I am a writer living in London. I teach because I am and always have been steeped in reading and responding to literature. Teaching allows me to help students to unlock their potential, while also helping me to hone my own analytical and critical skills. It is an invaluable process that helps me do what I do.

Oxford English Graduate & UCL Linguistics Postgrad – Expert Tuition Across All Levels I’m an English Language and Literature graduate from the University of Oxford and hold a postgraduate degree in Linguistics from UCL. I offer tailored English tuition for 11+, GCSE, A-Level, ELAT, Oxbridge applications, ESL, and undergraduate dissertations. I have a deep knowledge and appreciation for language and literature (English, as well as works in translation) and am comfortable offering help in whatever part of the subject a student may be having trouble with - whether that be analytical close reading, academic written proficiency, navigating how texts relate to the context in which they were produced, or the contexts in which they are reassessed. I am comfortable assessing a student’s proficiency in different areas of the subject and tailoring my approach as best suits. I can offer help for exams, entrance exams, coursework, dissertations, and English Language proficiency. I am an empathetic, socially capable tutor, and I am always eager to build rapport and trust with my students.
