About Nishita
When I entered my first year at university, I was a private tutor teaching GCSE English covering texts such as A Streetcar Named Desire and Othello as well as working on various poems. In particular, I assisted students in thinking thematically about passages whilst also honing in on close reading skills and bringing in context. In here, I adapted quickly to the curriculum particularly the different AO1/2/3/4. I made sure to dedicate and plan for lessons in advance whilst creating individual and personalised folders with the students in order to show their development and a record of the improvements that were being made. I also provided resources to help with primary focus but also secondary materials to help to expand on context. The main objective was to always ensure that all resources and close reading were always relevant to the task or question at hand.
I then moved onto working for a company which required me to teach English Literature and Maths to students who were in year 1 all the way to year 9 (with some additional GCSE work). I worked on 4 hour rotations teaching up to 6 students per hour. Per rotation, students were of different ages, different abilities and were learning different subjects The four main areas which were covered were; Phonics; in here younger students had a chance at working with the tutor on uttering and pronouncing sounds correctly whilst also blending to form words. Handwriting; I worked with younger students on their keeping their writing neat and consistent and developed joint writing skills. Moreover, I assisted students on answering comprehension question ensure focus was always maintained and clear complete answers. Reading; in reading students also had an opportunity to answer comprehension questions but worked importantly on understanding distinctions e.g. synonyms an antonyms, metaphors and similes, first person and third person, biography and autobiography. Maths; Here I taught both primary and secondary students the different methods in order to answer questions, they were always encouraged to show working out and work with tutor on recording and recalling methods independently upon being taught. I also marked and provided feedback for students and parents alike whilst also having training and dealing with SEN students. I was trained and grew in development of working with misconduct and misbehaviour. I contributed in extra learning content workshops such as; teaching 11+ to students, creative maths and I lead sessions in creative writing through teaching students the different forms of narrative and ways to engage with prospective consumers through persuasive skills. In this, students too also learnt about the various different and new language devices and were encouraged to implement them in their own creative writings e.g. a diary, a letter, a biographical account, a poem or a short story.
In my personal academic life, I had a thorough engagement with literature and that has now interplayed and formed my degree at the moment. I achieved an B in Maths, A* in English literature and A* in Religious Education. In my A levels, I achieved an C in History, a B in English, an A in Religious Studies and an A in the Extended Project Qualification (AQA). I am currently in my final year at University studying for an English BA and am predicted a 2:1. My literature skills isn’t my only asset but I have an acute theoretical focus which has been informed from undertaking Religious Studies at GCSE and A levels. I have engaged with theories regarding Freud, Immanuel Kant, Plato, Socrates, John Stuart Mill, G.E. Moore (to name but a few) and can also assist with those requiring support in Religious Education and Religious Studies. I particularly observed the distinction between ethics and philosophy and how religion forms many decisions and rules at play.
My focus isn’t purely academic, I have also written and published poems that I have submitted online and have also obtained a third prize award in a historical fiction competition. I am most enthusiastic about creative writing but approaching it through theoretical frameworks. At the moment, I have a lot of free time around my schedule at university and would love to devote and commit to help and inspire students to be motivated and achieve their desired results. It is important to me to work with students in an engaging, interactive manner that is useful and memorable. I will provide mock tests and papers which I will then mark and return with thorough feedback and I will always be available to reply to any emails asking for assistance.

Hiya!
I was a private tutor teaching GCSE English for a year before becoming trained. I worked for a company in tutoring English and Maths for students in year 1 to year 9 (with additional GCSE knowledge). I worked on a 4 hour rotations teaching up to 6 children per hour in various subjects e.g. phonics, handwriting, literature and Maths. Currently, I am undergoing my final year at University studying for an English BA and I have alot of time which I can devote to anyone requiring a tutor for English. I can also teach Religious Studies and KS1 Maths.
My tutoring method consists of developing a personalised and individual folder per student and in that we will work at the beginning on addressing strengths and weaknesses before setting weekly targets. I will create mock exam papers and provide academic and scholarly resources whilst working with students on thinking critically and imaginatively.
