About Tia
I come from a family of teachers, so education has always been a big part of my life, and I’ve always loved it. I often wish I had chosen teaching as my degree subject, so tutoring feels like a great opportunity to follow that passion now and continue working with the subjects I enjoyed most at A-Level and university.
I’ve always been really passionate about my subjects, and I loved studying Biology, Psychology, and English Literature at A-Level. Having had a tutor myself who really helped me during my studies, I understand how much of a difference the right support can make. It’s something I’d love to give back by sharing my own tips, tricks, and strategies to help other students feel more confident and succeed.

My approach to learning starts with making sure students really understand the content, not just memorise it. I like to break topics down into digestible parts and explain them in a way that makes them easier to remember and apply. Once the content feels clear, it becomes much easier to build confidence and use it effectively in exams.
From there, I like to work backwards from exam questions so students can understand exactly what the question is asking and what the examiner is looking for. I also spend time breaking down mark schemes in a simple way, helping students see how marks are awarded and what makes a high-level answer.
I’ve found that success in exams comes from a combination of strong understanding and good technique. I also believe every child learns in their own unique way, so I take time to understand how they learn best. I enjoy working with them to figure this out, whether that’s through visual learning, practice questions, or step-by-step explanations, and adapting my approach to suit their needs.
