I have taught hundreds of graduate and undergraduate creative writing and literature for 20 years. My students have earned BAs, MAs, MFAs, and PhDs and gone on to publish extensively and win academic fellowships and literary awards.

Subject matter aside, my approach to teaching, in the classroom and one-on-one, is deliberately conversation-based and focuses intensively on individual students' goals and learning habits . This modified Socratic program allows me to identify individual students' frames of reference and styles of learning and adjust to better serve my students.
