About Imogen
I have been giving English lessons for 2 years. The first year I taught younger children at my school and helped them with their GCSE English literature work, many of whom achieved A and A star grades in the summer. For the past 4 months I have been tutoring a 15 year old boy in his English GCSE. I am also currently undergoing a TEFL course which reinforces my teaching development and skills.

Hi! My name is Immy and I am 18, currently in the middle of my gap year before going to Durham university next year to study English literature. I achieved an A star in English literature A level at St Edwards School in Oxford and I am a keen enthusiast for reading and writing. My lessons are very organised and I like to come with tasks already planned. I enjoy making worksheets and resources before I come so that we can spend more time speaking. I find that a combination of visual, auditory and written work makes lessons both enjoyable and effective. Having just left school I know what makes a good teacher, and what doesn't, and I have modelled my lessons and style of teaching on what I found most inspiring and helpful as a student. I am young, friendly and passionate and eager to help people with their study of english, particularly if exam revision is proving difficult or stressful.

Being French, I needed tutoring with some literature analysis on books and Wordsworth poems which I didn't understand much of. Immy was incredibly helpful and very knowledgable about literature in general and taught me techniques of analysis that I will apply in the future.
