About Maria
"I remember the exact moment I realized that high level math requires more than just memorization. Watching a student struggle with word problems or statistics only to have the logic click into place is why I teach. My background includes a 99+ ATAR and my current status as a Doctor of Medicine candidate at the University of Queensland. I have spent 4 years refining these problem solving strategies for my students.

"High grades in math often come from being willing to get the wrong answer first. I do not believe in moving forward until you have mastered the conceptual learning behind coordinate geometry or probability. My 4 years of experience have shown me that SAT or ACT math prep is entirely about pattern recognition and mental math speed.
We will work through various levels of difficulty together. Sometimes we might spend the entire hour on one difficult concept until it becomes second nature.
It is actually quite fun to see how quickly your confidence grows when you stop fearing the word problems. I prefer to keep things tactical and high-standards to ensure you are ready for any exam. We will also incorporate Vedic math techniques where they can save you time on tests."
