About Maddisyn
I recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor's Degree in Art History, and am currently in between my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. History and Art History have been my life's passion since early high school, and I want to share that same excitement with you too. The discipline of History and Art History are so much more than just memorizing boring dates and names- it is the branch of connection between our current world and the past people, events, and systems it was built on. I am here to help you see that past and make those connections from your own perspective.
Special note: As a neurodivergent person myself, I understand the difficulties of navigating school when it seems like all of the odds are stacked against you. If you struggle with the same issues, I am more than open to tailoring our sessions to meet your specific needs as a student. Just let me know how I can accommodate you before starting our sessions!

I am an Early Modern specialist, but have taken plenty of courses in Ancient Civilizations and the Modern period. I always teach History from a global perspective, unless stated otherwise (i.e. a Micro-History project). In addition to my History and Art History knowledge, I have a strong understanding of historic research and analysis, the history writing process, and the application of history methodology to assigned readings and written assignments- the core elements history teachers look for in their students' work. As someone who has presented their own research at Undergraduate research conferences and poster fairs on campus, I want to help you reach that level of pride and comfortability in your own work.
