About Ricky
I have a bachelor of science degree in Public Health from the University of California, Irvine. I also completed a postbaccalaureate program at Cal State East Bay to further complete medical school prerequisites. I have extensive knowledge in biology from the coursework I have taken, and am confident in my ability able to teach the subject well.

My lessons are geared towards any high school or college students taking biology courses. I embrace an active approach to learning and teaching. I believe it is important to cover material together, followed by a discussion that attempts to dissect the learned concepts. I believe through analyzing material part by part and getting to the root which connects the concepts, one improves memory consolidation and becomes capable of further applying the learned concepts. I believe this is where true learning happens. In addition to aiding students with biology concepts, I am willing to provide information and mentoring to fellow aspiring medical doctors.
