About Michael
I am a college student currently studying math and physics. I have 3 years of experience tutoring in math, chemistry, and french, in both volunteer and professional settings. I have helped students score high on tests including the SAT, ACT, ISTEP, and even exams required for receiving their GED. I also worked with students over extended periods of time as an extra resource to teach difficult math subjects. I also enjoy working with younger children and have been a counselor at a summer camp.

I start by asking the student some questions to scope their understanding of the topic of interest. Once I understand where help is needed, I begin by teaching the most basic components related to the area that needs some help and then work up to the more complicated aspects. I first go over definitions and examples to give a basic understanding of a component, and then we work through practice problems, which allow me to see what the student is not understanding, and then I give additional instruction. This process of practice problems and additional instruction is repeated until the student can complete all manners of practice problems related to the component and I feel they have a sufficient understanding of the subject. Once the student understands a component, we move on to the next component and repeat the process. This continues until the student no longer has need of my help.
