I am a professional oboist with a great deal of experience. I have played in an orchestra with Dimitry for 5 years. I find his principal clarinet playing to be very fine. He is also a very good colleague. While my relation to him is not teacher-student, I judge from his warm personality that he makes an excellent teacher.

My son has been learning Saxophone from Mr. Dimitry for over a year. He enjoys playing Saxophone since the teacher not only gives him the techniques but also stimulates his motivation to love music. From his selective and custom music for my son, I can tell he is making good progresses and loves playing Saxophone more than before. We, as parents, appreciate his teaching.

Mr. Dimitry is the clarinet teacher for both my kids. He is very patient and explains music well. He always plays along them and encourages them to do their best.

My daughter has been studying with Dimitry for almost a year now, and I have seen incredible improvement in her skill on clarinet. Not only has Dimitry improved her technique, but he has also taught her a lot of music theory, improved her musicality, and given her lots of tips on clarinet and reed care. I would strongly recommend Dimitry to anyone searching for an excellent clarinet teacher.

The teacher is a very good musician. He is very knowledgeable on Clarinet and he knows how to teach kids.

Mr. Dimitry is a very nice and professional teacher. He is always inspiring students and keeps it positive. We do see steady progress after my kid working with him.

Mr. Chernavsky is a highly educated Music Instructor and gives great trumpet lessons with comments on technique and music theory. He has a great sense of humor as well.

Dimitry is very experienced and good musician and teacher. My son takes both clarinet and saxophone lessons with him. Strongly recommend!

Over the past three years with Mr. Dimitry, our son's progress has been tremendous. He engages our son effectively to keep him interested in music and clarinet while at the same time sets high expectations for him. Mr. Dimitry not only teaches sound clarinet skills, but also emphasizes the importance of playing music the right way, that is to tell stories and express feelings through music rather than to play music like a technician. Our son has become a much better young musician.

I am not a pupil.. I am not a parent of a pupil... I am just a grandma... Sometimes I bring my 9 yr old grandson to the music lesson here. I wait for an hour and what a pleasure this hour always is! Dimitry, the Teacher, has such special approach to his students and you can see right away he and my grandson have a wonderful relationship. In one hand they seem to be so friendly and feels like the same age. On the other hand as a teacher Dimitry definitely demands to be listen to in a soft but firm way. For sure a great bond with the children. This I am sure greatly contributed to the success of his students.

Dimitry has been teaching my 9 year old son for almost 3 years - my son started on the recorder and is now playing clarinet. Dimitry is very patient during lessons, even with my sometimes frustrated child, and encouraging, helping to boost my child's confidence with the instrument. Dimitry provides music instruction that is appropriate age and level wise, so my son feels accomplished and challenged at the same time. I always recommend Dimitry to friends with kids considering a music instrument.

Incredibly amiable, professional, and talented as a teacher.
As a senior in high school now graduating and transferring into college, I started my lessons with Dimitry in December last year and had to end this summer at the end of the music school's program. Even though my time learning the saxophone was short, Dimitry used my past musical experience to help guide me through the instrument. His lessons did not feel long in any sense of the word, and in fact some two-hour lessons I took to make up missed weeks blew by, as I was constantly engaged by his teachings. During my studies with him I found myself in the presence of a true musician, and this was only further driven home when I saw him play in the Hanover Wind Symphony at the Morristown Community Theater with Stanley Drucker. I would highly recommend Dimitry as an instructor for a student at any level.

We had some difficulty locating a clarinet teacher for our 10 year old daughter and did not love relying on the internet but Dimitry was quite a find. He has been fabulous in every aspect and our daughter has progressed beautifully and loves the clarinet. He is a true professional and a great musician. We recommend him highly with no reservations.
