About Ivy
I've been giving private tuitions for almost 5 years now to 4 students, and my work has reflected in their termly grades. I am currently teaching a 16-year-old who is going to sit their GCSEs at the end of this year and an 8-year-old preparing for their SATs.

Hi!
I offer Maths tuition to anyone from the ages of 7 to 16. I've got a bunch of experience with younger kids, in preparation for their SATs or GCSEs.
My lesson structure is usually the following:
- We start off by checking homework I've given the tutee from the previous session and have a discussion about which parts they found easy/hard. This gives me a good foundation about where we stand in terms of the topic being studied.
- At this point, I like giving them a starter task based on the topic studied int he previous session, to reconsolidate their understanding and pinpoint where improvements can be made.
- I work through the specification chronologically either mirroring the teaching at school or working ahead of the syllabus.
- To end the session, I'll give the tutee printed homework based on whatever was studied, depending on how much practice parents would like their children to have.
As an audiovisual learner myself, I ensure I can accommodate the learning style of the individual. My sessions are built on communication and are fun and engaging, but definitely, maintain the professional/"strict" boundaries that parents are on the hunt for. I want to build a good relationship with the tutee -where they're comfortable enough to tell me when and what they're struggling with- as well as with parents who can tell me what they want to see more/less of.
