About Melanie
I received my degree in Fine Arts and Japanese from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, and I am currently studying at UAL Central St Martins. I have been doing collaborative work with other students for 6 years, and received training in botanical and scientific illustration as well as knit and textile sculpture work.

My teaching method is collaborative and demonstrative in nature with a heavy focus on conceptual aspects of work. Technique is also crucial, but more important is finding your own voice and methods of creating unique art true to your individual practice. Experimentation is important, as is frequent critiques and discussion.
