In my first session, I will talk to my student to find out what they like and dislike about their subject, their current performance and what they want to achieve. After creating a progress plan, I'll use the future sessions with my students to go through the topics they struggle on and keep their current knowledge up to date.
I am enthusiastic about my field of interest and this shows in my teaching. My lessons are structured according to the learning style of the student rather than my style, for example whether a student gathers the information better with Diagrams, videos or simple definitions.
I'm currently studying at Aston University for Biomedical Science. I wanted to teach Biology in a way where it would be understandable for students who need help one to one. It can be very overwhelming starting A levels or GCSE's so I am very eager to help and offer my advice and guidance to you with regards to this subject.
Hello! My name is Afreen and I have a degree in Human Biology. I give lessons to students in all years of school and undergraduates. This includes primary school, secondary school, GCSE's, AS levels and A levels. I am a very good tutor, students I have taught before have made a lot of progress and I found it very rewarding watching them succeed.
I'm a very easy-to-get-along-with young man who is fresh out of university. I will happily teach you all you need to know about any of the scientific subjects (biology, physics and chemistry and mathematics) all of which I achieved As myself in at A level. I can also travel to your house if necessary and will explain any concepts you have any trouble with patiently and at your own pace.
There are several components of a curriculum, e.g., the contents, methods, tools, and the process of the teaching. The curriculum itself is developed following its educational goal in respect of the stakeholders, environment, and the education program.
I am 17 years old and currently working on my A levels, I have previously tutored my younger sister in Biology and have had great results. I teach by using whiteboards to almost lecture in a way, I like to do interactive activities such as matching up cards and I find turning details such as equations into a story is often efficient when teaching and improving memory.
Thorough lead in planning Interactive learning Accommodate visual learners Provide study notes Past papers and assessments tailored to specific learner
I approach learning in a very pro-active way. Learning by doing means that the student can memorise what they learn and also gives them a chance to make mistakes, rectify them and hence learn from them, ensuring the same mistakes are not made in a more important environment, i.e. during exams.
Many years of experience teaching a wide range of students both Biology and ESS (IB). Lesson structured around the needs of students determined by a survey prior to starting the first session. Run revision workshops for students so quick to adapt style to suit student’s needs. Like using mind maps, flow charts and quick quizzes.
I use a lot of different resources to make sure you get all the concepts, even if it means it is explained in many different ways. i also put a lot of emphasis on past papers and understanding what the question is asking you to do, then putting that technique into practice.
I am an enthusiastic and patient teacher, more than happy to help all students with or without SEN to make better progress and reach their potential. I tailor teaching methods and lessons to individual students needs, and am happy to provide general tutoring, or specific examination preparation and revision.
My teaching method is progressive- Short term memory will be tested in relaxed activities eg mix and match, putting in order, flash card definitions, 1-2 mark quick fire questions. This is to ensure that information can be recalled quickly and easily so that it becomes second nature. Complex knowledge will be broken down and summarised into memorable key points.
My teaching methodology is that everyone should be smart about their learning as different methods work for better for different people. As a tutor, I will individualise my tutoring to how you best learn and help you find ways which work for you to retain knowledge. Furthermore, I understand that exam technique is important and I will make sure I stick to your syllabus.
My teaching method varies from student to student. Firstly I believe a sound knowledge of the subject should be attained which includes knowing the basics of each topic within the subject. After acquiring such knowledge I believe in building on these foundations so that each student reaches above and beyond their full potential.
I believe that everyone learns differently so I am always open to teaching in different styles to help pupils learn effectively. I specialise in teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 level. I also deliver BTEC Level 3 Science. I often deliver content and then assess learning through exam practice or by pupils teaching back learnt content to me.
My teaching methods are practical and evidence based. I can approach degree level subjects with unique industrial experience. Helping with powerpoint presentations and feedback sessions.
I believe that if you enjoy your lessons, you'll learn more! I aim to make my teaching accessible and fun. We all have different learning styles, so I will adapt my teaching to what works best for the individual student.
My name is Lucy and I have recently graduated in Neuroscience with first class honours from the University of Bristol. I am offering Science lessons for KS2, KS3, GCSE and A level students.
Lessons consist of one on one tuition with students of any age , each session will focus on one area of the national ciriculum in biology or a topic can be selected by the student. Each session the student will be taught the key concepts for understanding the subject matter before being shown the techniques for gaining full marks in examination answers.
Currently a third year medical student at the University of Liverpool offering tutoring in biology, maths and GCSE science. Friendly and patient, currently working with NCS the Challenge so have lots of experience working with 15-17 year olds.Offering competitive rates.
Currently pursuing my PhD in microbiology and immunity. I teach primary to undergraduate level biology to a range of students. I have helped many of my students to understand scientific concepts they previously thought were difficult by simplifying things. I like to communicate with my students in a positive, 'can do' attitude.
I love teaching and especially making a difference which I have done numerous times. I care about how people learn and have a particular focus on teaching in a way that is best for each individual. As we all learn differently and so I have a specific focus on making the learning relevant to each student.
I use a variety of teaching resources to ensure pupils are engaged and can also practice exam style questions. I have taught GCSE science using the AQA and Edexcel schemes. As I normally teach one to one the pupils often let me know which topics they need help with.
I give Biology lessons at KS3 level. I enable students to reach their potential by complimenting their school work, working specifically on their areas of weakness. My teaching is primarily done alongside exercises, which I both use to gauge the development of my students as well as to identify topics which need more work.
On the first meeting, I hope to find out what the tutee is weak on or would like to work on. From this, I hope to test their basic knowledge of the subject material to find the depth of understanding that the tutee has. This will help both the tutee and I understand where we should focus and what topics we should target.
I approach each topic based on the students preferred method of learning. Some students prefer more practical examples while others want to follow a set curriculum and I offer both. I prefer to plan my lessons ahead of time so if the student and I could discuss each preceding lesson before-hand that would be great.
An A-level biology specialist I have extensive experience as both a teacher in school, sixth form and an A-level examiner. I specialise in helping my students to achieve the best exam grade possible by concentrating on exam technique, application questions and exam analysis.
My main focus is to try to get students to really understand the content rather than just memorising what will come up on the exam. I think going through all the modules with students and then doing a lot of past paper questions is the best technique to obtain the grade you want.
I give lessons to students from primary to undergraduate level based on the subject requirement. I am strong and efficient in teaching primarily to GSCE level biology, basic botany and zoology, cellular biology, basic protein study, genetics and basic microbiology. I require a minimum of two hours to structure and effectively teach a part of the student is having difficulty with.
