I teach the topics students are struggling with and try to apply methods and tips I used when studying for my maths exams. I try various approaches to teaching dependant on the students preferred method of learning I.e. Visual or practical learning etc.
I have found the best way to teach people is to give examples and go through questions with the student. Then lots of practise to really nail each part and this helps to remember it. However, I am aware that many people learn in different ways and I am very capable of recognising this and adapting to the individual student.
my teaching method depends on the person I'm teaching, as some people prefer learning in an abstract way with number, formulas and rules whereas others find it easier to put it into a real word situation.
My name is Marco Carobene and I am a Second Year Mathematics BSc Student at King's College London. I have a lot of experience tutoring maths students at AS and A2 Level, and have recently started online tutoring also. I generally do my tutoring via Skype, using the aid of an onscreen whiteboard, but remain completely open to requests in terms of how you would prefer to be taught.
I have A* in further maths at both GCSE and A level. I am currently studying my first year of maths at Bristol university. I am also beginning teacher training with the CLF and have been DBS checked by them. I can go through tailored exercises to fill in gaps in school learning or work through past papers to prepare for exams.
I prefer to teach a new lesson by giving some real examples and explaining why the new lesson is useful and important.
Hi, Im a Student currently studying Maths A Level. For my Maths GCSE I achieved a grade A. I've loved doing maths ever since i was in primary school. If your child is in year 11 or below, i will be able to teach them. For my lesson structure, ill be focused on what they are currently doing in school. We will start each lesson with the basics then get harder as the lesson progresses.
I have a masters degree in Mathematics from Oxford University. I have a strong level of subject knowledge and understanding for topics covered in GCSE and A Level mathematics. More importantly I understand that different people will find different explanations more helpful, and I am able to explain ideas in multiple ways if the first way doesn't work.
Actually I am a Fashion Designer. But, I am a geek of the maths ... So much that I reached the final of the national math championship in Spain when I was in my last year of ESO (GCSE). In the end, I did not win because the last test was "logical" and I'm not good at it.
I fell in love with physics after working on submarines, where I learned engineering as part of my job. I began taking courses and exams in my spare time which eventually led to me obtaining a physics degree (2017) from the University of Bristol. Physics can be hard, and I understand from first-hand experience how daunting and confusing it can be.
I base my studies on procedures arrangement, open thinking and offer very effective solved examples and notes for more easiness of the subject
My teaching methods are mostly student lead (by that i mean focusing on their needs). I like to break down complicated things in to their simplest form and explaining them in a way that make sense for everyone and differentiated to cater for everyone.
I am a 16 year old currently doing my PHD at MIT Ha just kidding My Name is Joel Kirby I am a 16 year old with predicted 9 student with great verbal and teaching skills. I personally think that it is easier to learn from someone your own age since they understand how our minds look and decipher problems.
Hi, I'm Izzi! I am a student currently on a gap year and going to Nottingham University next year. My teaching style is encouraging and enthusiastic. I aim to improve overall understanding of mathematics so students understand the methods rather than simply remembering them.
My teaching methods reflect those used in the primary classroom. I use positive reinforcement and structured lessons to support children’s learning in curriculum areas.
I am a student at the university of Bristol, studying Engineering Mathematics, looking to tutor mathematics to eager to learn students at a GCSE to As Level standard. The Structure which I teach in is to start with theory of the topic and then to walk through examples until the student can solve problems without aid.
Mathematics was one of the subjects in which I did better in high school. Now I am a Banking & Finance student at the University of the West of England willing to help other students with their math questions. Submit the exercises you want help with 3 days prior the tutorial and I will help you solving them step by step. If you just received any homework the day of the tutorial, that is fine.
My name is Jacob Diederiks, I have a 4 year Teaching Degree, in vocation subjects but Maths is included. I have a passion for poetry and music as well. I also have experience coaching a variety of sports from Rugby, cricket, Tennis etc. The method of teaching that I prefer to use is practical interactive learner centered activities that engage and activate.
My name is Polly and I tutor anyone from primary to GCSE I like to help students to learn by going over questions on the subject and ensuring they understand concepts instead of just memorising facts. I am currently studying A level Maths, Biology and Chemistry.
I am studying straight physics at the University of Bristol. I'm currently in first year after achieving A*AA in my A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry respectively. My main teaching methods involve problem solving and helping students logically work through exam papers and questions logically. I am patient and can communicate well.
I am about to enter my third year of MSci Physics at the University of Bristol, have been tutoring since November 2016. I tutor Maths and Physics from KS3 to A Level, and Science from KS3 to GCSE. I like to change my exact methods and techniques to best suit the student.
I believe that each student learns differently and I adapt to each students learning needs in order to tutor them in the most beneficial and efficient way. I will first get to know all the weaknesses and problems that my student faces and then form a structured learning method to help overcome their difficulties step by step.
I like to assess the student in the first part of the first lesson so as to learn the level of Maths they are at, at the moment because having gaps in knowledge from previous years I like to assess the student in the first part of the first lesson so as to learn the level of Maths the student is, at the moment, because in most cases that causes the issue with current topics the student is learning.
I like to practise in the moment learning so even if i have a lesson plan if the child expressess they would like to focus on something else we will do that
My method of teaching is unique just as every student is unique. I cater to your specific needs in order to yield the best results. Overall my aim is very simple: for you to hit and perhaps even exceed your academic targets in the time frame you have requested.
I teach by example and clarification. I follow a method which is going to give you the most possible marks. I am patience and understanding, I work at the pace most suitable for you, at the time you want, how you want.
I am a teacher from Spain. I hold a bachelor's degree from Autonomous University of Madrid UAM (Spain) in Physics and I have just finished my Postgraduate in Education (PGCE) in Camilo Jose Cela University UCJC (Spain). I have experience tutoring and teaching groups in my country, mainly in secondary levels. I have a strong knowledge of the subjects maths and physics.
Hi there! My name is Robert and I am a Maths and Physics tutor from Bristol When I was at school I found Maths very difficult so can empathise with students who are struggling to get to grips with the subject matter. Having completed a Physics degree with a high 2.1, I know it is possible to overcome problems and that with enough work success is possible.
My style of teaching is focused on process of learning rather than on the correctness of the answer. One important thing I have learned along the way is to be patient and provide appropriate 'think' time. Ask leading questions to help students learn and understand the material. Also, relate successful study strategies to the tutee.
I am currently in my second year studying Mathematics at the University of Bristol. I achieved an A* in both Maths and Further Maths at A-level, so I am confident in giving maths lessons to primary, secondary and A-level students.
