My teaching method is based around using past paper questions to develop exam technique and further the students knowledge in the subject.
The teaching method I will apply is fairly theory-heavy (particularly in physics rather than maths) which I believe is the most crucial of a subject. A-Level and GCSE are notorious for saying 'this is how it's done', but not 'this is why it's done like this'. The understanding of the subject is the absolute foundation of achieving ambition, in which too many students sadly miss.
I use different techniques that differ to each person, for example visual (pictures), aural (sound and music), verbal (speech and writing), logical (reasoning and systems) and solitary (working alone and self study). Each method of learning can be altered and adapted to suit every need of the student.
My teaching method is to teach the lesson and give homework for consolidation and also I do prolonging of my work so children can learn in the long run. I do extensive planning and I am very understanding to those low ability students especially.
My teaching method is to teach the lesson and give homework for consolidation. Student will always receive a reap exercise relating to their last lesson, which will highlight any weaknesses. I do extensive planning and I am very understanding to those low ability students especially.
I would run through everything with the student. Every topic and all sorts of questions to make sure my student has had enough practice. I am capable of teaching all levels of Maths up to (but not including) University level.
A young student available to tutor maths, art and chemistry, as well as English Literature at gcse level.
My teaching method involves laying a solid foundation then establish the concept to the highest possible level.
I give lessons at GCSE level maximum where I teach in a non-condescending manner. I have been teaching my 11 year old cousin for years and enjoy it thoroughly. I would love to help other students.
I teach from scratch and clearly.
I can tutor maths from primary school up to and including AS Level. I believe that the best way to learn with maths is to just do worked examples. I will set plenty of work to do in your free time, then you come back to me with the work you have done and I will check everything through, tell you where you went wrong, and help learn from those mistakes.
You struggle with math? So did I when I had my first math assignment but there is always solution even when you think you will never manage it.Whether is a math for beginners, or Algebra or Economics math i am here to help to achieve your goals. Everything is possible, just hard work and lots of practice and of course some extra tuition will help you on your way.
I understand that to some people, Maths might as well be in a different language! Everyone learns differently, but I find that relating Maths to everyday life makes it much more accessible to my students, and if it's logical and relatable it's much more likely to be remembered too. I prefer using past papers to teach, as I feel it's the most helpful way of preparing for an exam.
My teaching methodology is based on an organised series of lessons covering a specific set of topics including exam preparation and revision.
I am currently working at a GCSE level mathematics and have been recommended by my own school and teachers that I should look at some form of tutoring outside of school. Math is known as my highly strong subject compared to most. I know how to find logical answers and sometimes find knew ways around questions I may not have previously understood.
My lessons are based around the student - it is their lesson, and I want to make sure they get the most out of it.
I am an undergraduate, so can tutor any level below that, whether it be A Level, GCSE, KS3 or SATs/11+. I structure lessons fairly informally, with a focus on past papers, but also seek to increase the student's interest in the subject by providing some real world context and by ensuring that we have a good relationship.
My lessons are about ensuring total confidence of topics that students will have previously found difficult or teach more confident students ahead of their class/curriculum. Initially, I will ask the student to write a list of all the topics they struggle with, giving each topic an amount of stars from 1-5 in order of difficulty.
I discuss with students where they feel they are strong/weak and do a general assessment of the four broad areas: number, algebra, shape & space, probability & statistics. I tend to use past papers to measure progress then focus in on problem topics and exam technique.
I believe that all students have their own styles of learning, my background in educational psychology gives an insight into this and has encouraged me to utilise the style of the child rather than asking them to conform.
I ask the student what topics they struggle with or want to go over again and then I make a lesson plan accordingly and go over it with them in a way in which they fully understand the topic by the end of the lesson.
My main concern whilst teaching is to make sure that I am tailoring it as best as possible to my student(s). With a subject like maths, it's important that I am patient, as well as consider that everybody learns in a different way. I like using many different methods such as problem sheets, written exercises, interactive computer programmes etc.
My name is Angus Bolton, offering maths tutoring to primary and secondary school pupils. I focus on specific aspects that the pupil requires explanation of, starting with the basic rules, and ensuring they understand them with a mixture of demonstrations and giving them the chance as well.
I am currently a student of Cass Business School (City, University of London) where I study Actuarial Science which is a very demanding mathematical and statistical course. I have experience in tutoring and my ability to adapt tutoring to suit different students underlies the success that follows.
I help students grasp the key concepts, breaking down the complicated into easier chunks of information and looking for that "a-ha" moment from the student, building confidence. I explain the information which should be understood and applied so that it is easier to recall in the exam.
