Hi, I have just completed my BSc Mathematics at Nottingham University in which i achieved a 2.1. I will be starting my PGCE in September 2011. Please feel free to contact if you require further assistance with the subjects I have listed, or if you wish just to increase confidence within these areas.
During any session I will identify the problems the student currently has and find relevant questions (past paper or otherwise) to help explain, and eventually, overcome the problem. I primarily will use questions and past papers but am open to any techniques the student believes may be helpful.
My approach to teaching is practise, practise and more practise. Attempting as many and varied questions as you can find will allow you to see the theoretical concepts you are learning about in action and so when it comes to revising for an exam you will have seen that many questions, the problems in the exam will not catch you off guard.
Adaptability (flexibility, adjustability, versatility, re-evaluate the student’s objectives as they progress) Energy (motivation, enthusiasm, interpersonal skills) Openness (accessibility, availability, involvement, empathy) Humility (respect, discernment, acceptance) I give students individualised attention that they don't get in a crowded classroom.
I am offering tuition in Maths for GCSE and A-Level students. In all of my tutoring sessions, my aim is to guide rather than lecture, helping the student to become more confident in their ability and to help build positive study habits.
My teaching method is to assume my pupil needs to understand the very basics before moving onto anything further. We take things step by step at your pace. I am a good listener as well as a good teacher and am aware each pupil is different and requires a different approach.
- Classes We offer a maths and English programme which is based on a 'drop in' session to the centre twice per week. - Ages and Levels Covered Kumon is an established, international and very successful company which offers individualised programmes to suit the needs of all students from age 3 to 16.
Teaching on a one-to-one basis means that the individual needs of the student need to be met. I strive to get the best out of each student and work towards developing the students understanding, allowing them to see the progress they are making and in turn building their confidence.
I have recently completed an Integrated Masters degree in Chemistry at the University of Leeds. Throughout my time here, I have been able to develop excellent communication skills through regular group work and presentations, meaning I can explain difficult concepts in a straightforward manner.
My teaching method is to get you through the exam by inspiring and building confidence.
My name is Chloe and I am studying maths in college after enjoying maths at GCSE and leaving with a good grade. I give tutoring to GCSE pupils, supporting students and helping them achieve their best grades in their exams.
I currently teach Maths in schools from y7 up to GCSE. I can tutor with any maths topic up to and including A level, due to achieving A* in both Maths and Further Maths at A-level. I believe the best way to revise and learn is to work through examinations questions, but I am open to any other method of learning and will teach any topic you feel you need help on.
My teaching method is to help students understand the context of the course aiding their ability to solve issues and giving them a wider meaning of their course. The main focus is to build the foundation and then solve complex questions. My method may take longer but it will lead to better long term results so patience will be required from both ends.
I have several years experience teaching Mathematics from KS2 through to GCSE level as well as Functional Skills upto Level 2. I enjoy tutoring 1-1, as I get to connect with individual students and tailor my lessons to suit their needs and abilities. I am flexible in my approach to tutoring, and find that small steps make a dynamic difference to confidence as well as ability.
I am lived in Lahore Pakistan and i have just passed by Bachelor and now i am working in an Govt. Organization besides i teach no. of students because its my passion to teach others. My methodology is to cover your running syllabus as well as take you apart from your class i will explain you every time you asked . And practices you the easiest and simplest method to solve the questions.
I am a recent graduate with a Bachelors of Mathematics (Hons.) from the University of Leeds, Class of 2017. As I have only recently left the education system, and hence have not long completed the different levels of schooling, I believe I am very well placed to offer up-to-date advice and solutions to students. I am offering advice, support and help to students of all levels, A-level and below.
My teaching method usually revolves around taking a different approach to the type of question by creating a fun way that the solution can be remembered easily. This is done by songs, rhymes, or actions. For exam revision, I can provide a wide range of professionally created flash cards and offer my own ways of learning.
I give lessons to GCSE students and A Level students. For saxophone lessons I do play along lessons including playing and theory using many books and music sheets that I have available. For biology, chemistry and maths I use powerpoints, past exam questions and revision posters that we will go through and talk through allowing you to review the topics taught independently as well.
I cater my teaching methods to each client. Everybody learns differently so I have a wide variety of skills that are able to help each individual student. I give lessons to people doing A levels and GCSEs within my subjects.
I want to help children of Primary school and Secondary school age in Maths and Statistics. I want each child to feel like they can come to me with an issue that they may have in the subject and we can work together patiently to try to resolve it and help their personal understanding.
I focus on embedding a higher understanding of mathematical theories and concepts, using the most efficient strategies, which encourages independent learning and promotes problem solving abilities.
I can very easily adapt my teaching style to the style that is best suited to the student. I work well with children, taking great satisfaction from them enjoying learning and seeing their progress. I am able to create an inspiring learning environment even though the lessons are online. I aim to make the lesson memorable by keeping it fun, colourful and engaging.
- Classes Children follow a programme, the starting point being determined by an initial assessment. The maths programme is pure maths - from number recognition to GCSE algebra. It includes topics such as shape, time, measurement, area/perimeter, series, etc. We will also help with applied topics as required. We can provide practice papers for school exams (KS1, KS2, GCSE).
Relaxed and chilled approach No pressure just show me what you can and can't do and I'll help with the rest As long as you're willing to learn and do your best I'll have all the time and patience you need!
My teaching method is determined partly by the nature of the learner. On one to one sessions, I engage with the learner to figure out topics they find challenging and need help with. I ensure students are comfortable and by starting with simpler questions on topics, I build up learner's confidence.
I am a patient and encouraging tutor who can adapt to the needs and skill level of my students. I approach each topic firstly with an overview and explanation of the topic as a whole, identifying weaker areas first, then following this up with various exercises and tests of increasing difficulty until the student feels confident with the topic.
I am a competent, hard-working, well organized and enthusiastic person looking to help develop student skills in the math and science area of their gcse's. Having achieved a B in both areas and helping students in a secondary school I have a understanding of the course and a keenes to teach.
My teaching method includes researching about the topic in order to find multiple techniques to teach a particular topic so that the student I'm teaching is exposed to multiple ways of understanding the topic. I then teach the student in a calm, patient manner and am willing to explain until the student understands.
I'm a retail store manager with 5+ years experience, looking to earn a little extra money by tutoring. I'm a friendly, patient guy who tries to speak in 'plain English' and explain the 'why' behind concepts rather than just saying 'that's the way it is'.
- Classes Kumon provide individualised Maths and English programmes. Attendance at class is on a "drop-in" basis during class times as each child works on their own individual development plan. Children take approximately 20-30 minutes per subject and attend class once or twice a week. The Kumon programmes provide supplementary study, designed in a very logical, step by step, way.
