I give lessons to GCSE and A-Level students in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, both in person (in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge) and online. Having completed my GCSEs and A-Levels myself rather recently, I can relate and see problems from a student's perspective.
I like to make my lessons personal to the student I teach. We will work together to uncover your weaknesses and then I will base my lesson plans on this information. I am able to teach course content and also exam technique. As a student taking public exams for the last four years I have valuable first hand knowledge on how to answer exam questions.
The current A levels are incredibly content heavy and rely on so much more than just knowledge. My approach to exam preparation consists of teaching proper exam technique and utilising both the Feynman and Pomodoro techniques in an attempt to remove rote learning whilst increasing the students ability to concentrate for prolonged periods of time.
I achieved an A in physics and an A* in maths at GCSE and hope to help those younger achieve the same, or better, grades. I'd do this by focusing on developing their understanding of the topic before giving them a set practice.
I base my classes on the topics primarily on the exam board specification or beyond as necessary to suit the student's needs. I make sure to adjust the way I explain a topic to suit the student's learning style, being able to adapt my approach to teaching any topic. I utilise topic related past paper questions where appropriate to ensure a thorough understanding.
I try to base my lessons around the individual student, how they learn and what their interests are. In order to enhance their education I focus on trying to improving understanding rather than just absorbing content and aim to keep classes fluid in order to maximise engagement throughout.
I studied General Engineering at Oxford University and am currently still a student working on a Computer Science degree from home. I have been tutoring Maths and Physics for 2 years now around Tunbridge Wells and East Grinstead.
I am a Masters Engineering student at the University of Exeter with a background in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I teach students anywhere from primary education through to A-levels at school and college.
An enthusiastic and hard working physics teacher who is able to teach students across all ages and range. Vasilakis can help pupils make sense of science and get them fired up about the subject. He takes his job very seriously and he is planning science lessons that involve demonstrations, lectures, discussions and hands on experiments.
I teach all aspects of Science. For Physics, this includes forces, energy, electricity, heat, waves, radioactivity etc. For Chemistry, it's things like atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, acids and alkalis etc. But for Biology, it's often respiration, photosynthesis, digestion, circulation, the immune system etc.
My teaching method is what I believe to be the best way to learn; which is the intuitive method. I believe that making the student understand the subject matter will not only help achieve the better grade but will also help the student retain the subject material for longer.
I try and make my lessons as enjoyable as possible, as fun is key to learning. I also go through different examples of the subject until it’s fully understood.
I help identify areas students are weak at by producing a test for them to do and then help them to understand the regions which they are weak at. Go through the topics the students don't understand and explain them as clearly as I can.
Hi, I'm Matt! I'm a student currently in my second year of sixth form and am looking for some tutoring opportunities for experience and a bit of cash on the side! I'm a friendly outgoing guy and achieved 2 A*'s in Maths and Further Maths GCSEs. I incorporate a multitude of techniques while teaching (practice questions, worked examples, etc.
Physics revolves around understanding, so talking through lots of questions and topics is key. As well as that, there is a lot of maths in Physics up to GCSE so helping students practice these kinds of questions and marking them, showing them where they are going wrong and helping them to understand how to solve each problem would be a critical part of lessons.
I follow closely to each student’s syllabus and exam board, offering alternative explanations for concepts & techniques than they had experienced in class. I focus on improving confidence in their abilities and ensure they are fully prepared for any eventuality in an exam situation.
I can promise dedicated bespoke lessons plans, referencing exam papers and mark schemes adhering to the relevant exam board. Whether teaching Maths/Physics, History/Philosophy, my approach is the same. For any subject it is the skills that are important, once you learn the method then the details fall into place.
• Meeting with high expectations and delivering consistent support and learning for pupils and parents • Writing reports to record the academic progress of the tutees after each session • Ensuring all pupils enjoy activities and providing a range of different activities to pursue their interests • Providing parents/guardians with a daily update on their child’s achievements and progre
I will go for an interactive teaching, continuously evaluating the comfort level and learning difficulties that my student may have and clear it. After each lesson we (me & my student) shall solve some relative problems together starting with the easier ones and gradually moving up the standard.
As a tutor, I am aware of the difficult concepts to grasp in Mathematics and therefore, when explaining and working through problems, I ensure I thoroughly explain and detail every step. I will check understanding of content covered before moving on to new content as it is essential to have a solid foundation before moving on to more difficult content.
In order to help students achieve their objectives I believe it's important to understand their strengths and weaknesses and then establish a clear study plan with relevant targets. My lessons are planned and well structured and have proved very effective. I have degrees in Engineering from Imperial and Finance from London Business School.
Having worked with a range of students, from primary school all the way up to GCSE, I've experienced a wide range of learning styles and teaching techniques. I focus on the student's needs and adapt my lesson plans to their specific criteria. I teach mathematics from primary school all the way up to GCSE and A-Level. I teach all major sciences up to GCSE.
I attend Oxford University where most teaching is done in small group tutorial teaching, and this is something I aim to mimic in my lessons. Typically, we start by discussing in detail a topic. This is the period where your understanding of a topic improves, giving you an opportunity to write notes and to see exactly what the examiners want you to write.
