I give lessons to students sitting their GCSE in English or SATs in English that are struggling in the common areas of reading and literacy. The structure of the lesson would always start with a warm-up task based on their level of confidence in the subject with at least 5 practice questions to complete based on their weakness.

Hello, my name is Jessica and I am currently a third year university student. I am here to help you succeed and make you feel more confident and relaxed with your work.
I am an Undergraduate student at the University of Leeds studying English Literature. I have a keen interest in improving capabilities of students in a friendly and positive environment. My teaching method is to grasp an understanding from the pupil as to how they want to improved their skills, alongside advice and information from parents and teachers.
I look to create a personal and therefore successful method and plan, so my students achieve all their goals and we can overcome any obstacles or difficulties along the way. By meeting you initially I will generate an understanding of the best way you will want to learn and what lesson structures we can use to ensure you get the optimum from our lessons together.
I want to help my students gain confidence in their writing skills and their ability to interpret and analyse texts. The most important part of study is gaining a passion and appreciation for your subject; this helps you gain key skills and pass exams. I will lay a good groundwork on exam techniques as well as encouraging questions and exploration of literature.
My approach will depend on the group or the individual I'm teaching - I'll do a SWOT and analyse your learning need and we shall work on that together.
I am able to teach one-on-one or in groups, and make lessons enjoyable and engaging with younger students. I will regularly monitor progress, and where suitable provide homework to ensure effective results. My experience as a tutor allows me to effectively engage with a variety of students and offer a wealth of resources to a number of subjects.
I believe creating a love for learning is essential to enjoy and achieve. My lessons are creative, fun and tailored to individual student's needs and I have a lot of experience working in the primary age range plus building up towards SATs.
Patient, friendly and fun teaching style. Can offer support and advice on blogging and online content creation for students and young professionals as well as helping adults and teenagers improve reading and writing skills.
I base my classes on both oratory and written skills. I would use a plethora of methods ranging from public speaking for presentations, helping with essay writing, reading and annotating text, and also to simple tutoring surrounding spelling and handwriting.
I approach each topic differently, finding first what the student may find difficult in a subject and trying to help them overcome those specific problems. Therefore, each lessons is tailored specifically to the child's needs and is in adherence to school curriculum. It is about helping the child to love and understand a subject.
Classes are flexible to suit individual needs, but will largely be based closely on textual analysis and essay construction/practice to help the student achieve high marks while also focusing on improving the analytical, academic approach to work. Available to work alongside pupil's school work if required.
When teaching I start by identifying the weaknesses and build upon foundation skills to heighten confidence before trying harder content.
The Teaching method that I did use was firstly doing an individual diagnostic on the student to see what level they were at, look for their learning pattern and design a learning plan that suits their own personnel needs.
An experienced secondary school teacher who makes lessons challenging but achievable with reachable goals and opportunities for progress and success
My teaching method is personalised to the needs of the individual, this means that no two sessions with different students will be the same. I will work with you to design a learning experience that works on specific targets to meet your goals.
Note: I do NOT offer lessons via webcam, there isn't a relevant option for me to tick. My methods of teaching are casual and steady to begin with, as I believe that any improvement in English as a whole should be encouraged with use of a friendly, conversational step-by-step approach to the language.
I believe in making maths fun for everyone! Lots of interactive games and methods; most importantly lots of support when required!
I offer lessons to both native English speakers studying literature at school or university, as well as foreign students who need assistance writing in English. I can use Skype to conduct face-to-face question-and-answer lessons, and will also provide detailed analysis and critique of essays via email.
What are the student’s goals? What does the student find difficult? Do particular areas need attention (e.g., for exams?) The first session will assess preexisting knowledge, and from there I will produce a plan with the student on areas to be worked on.
My teaching method is based on filling in missing knowledge that students are unsure of and provide detailed explanations as well as summarised overviews of different aspects of the texts. I will give real-life examples and relevant context with each text studied. I specialise in Macbeth, Blood Brothers, A Christmas Carol and the Love and Relationships cluster from the AQA poetry anthology.
My teaching method is to engage students within a range of activities - reaffirming core English concepts such as grammar and building on prior skills in order to be able to engage and understand the text/task at hand. Homework is set every lesson enabling the student to self-mark work with my assistance at the beginning of each lesson.
I like to engage the student and build a positive relationship with them. Following the set curriculum and preparing for exams is very important, as is writing essays for practice or for coursework. So is aiming to genuinely understand the subject matter and to engage in critical thought and explore around the subject. On top of this having fun while doing so is vital.
