I like to approach the teaching and tuition of both maths and statistics by allowing pupils to gain an understanding of the methodology behind each topic and question type. I believe that once this is understood and mastered, pupils are able to face any question posed to them, inputting the given data set into the methodology that they know so well.
I try to make lessons as fun and engaging as possible. I take each case student by student as no two people are the same! Generally speaking, a typical lesson will focus on one particular area, usually looking at a few questions and how to approach these. With younger children, I will try to involve games and fun activities to make the learning/aim of the lesson explicit.
