About Martyn
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am an experienced coach, qualified to tutor in Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Science.
Tailoring to the student's needs, I can support Mathematics and Physics learning from GCSE and A level; Science, Chemistry and Biology to GCSE level.
For the last ten years I have been tutoring full time in all examining boards including AQA, Edexcel, OCR.
To validate my proven track record for successful outcomes, my students exam results all exceeded expectations with many 9 and A results.

I tutor Physics and Mathematics GCSE, AS and A2 levels, and Biology, Chemistry and Science GCSE.

Awarded MSc Physics from the University of Surrey.
Worked for BT for 28 years on a wide range of tasks which included training managers in data analysis skills.
I have been a Scout Leader for over 30 years has given me knowledge and experience of leading and training young people in the appropriate age ranges.
I am a qualified Mountain Leader Assessor and First Aid Instructor
- How much do you charge?
£30 and £35 when travelling to you.
- Where do you teach?
Weekday evenings I tutor small groups of students at the Crowborough Basepoint, Pine Grove.
Daytime and Saturdays I tutor 1 to 1 at my home in Crowborough.
During weekdays I can travel up to about 8 miles to Jarvis Brook, Rotherfield, Tunbridge Wells and Uckfield areas.
- When are you available?
I have a few times available in the evenings.

Most of my students are studying for GCSEs and A Levels.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Maths and Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSEs, and A Level Maths and Physics.

I remove mental road blocks by approaching difficult area from other directions, and by instilling the confidence to overcome obstacles.
Tutoring sessions are customised to the individual student's needs, with revision strategies to maximise exam performance.
Very good at motivating students, being enthusiastic and making the subject fun and exciting.
The pace is customised to stretch the young people, while keeping within their comprehension zone.
I have the ability to be able to explain complex things in a simple way.
