About Raihan
I am currently a 2nd year student at University College London (UCL) studying Pure Economics with a focus on Maths and achieved a grade 9 in GCSE maths and all A*'s in A Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics. To date I have tutored hundreds of students over the course of 5 years and so I have worked with a range of students with different abilities. I tutor all exam boards for GCSE and A Level Mathematics including international GCSE and A Level Maths. Prior to my time as a tutor for superprof I have tutored A-level, GCSE and secondary school children for almost 5 years and so have developed a rigid system to ensure my students are able to not only maximise their potential and ace their exams but also develop a love for the subject. I have focused a lot of my years as a tutor teaching students who are struggling in school in subjects like mathematics, as I strongly believe anyone can achieve top grades if they are able to develop the right approach to learning and have the correct systems in place to ensure success, which I am certain I can provide. Prior to Covid, I had taught students privately for a few years and when covid happened I transitioned online. Since then, I have completely switched to tutoring online and so I am extremely confident I can deliver a fantastic tutoring experience to prospective students. Given my years of experience and the hundreds of students I have taught across the many platforms I have tutored on, I am confident in my ability to help my students achieve above and beyond in mathematics and to prove all those people who looked down upon them wrong !

Before the lesson - Communication is key and it is the most important thing to ensure a tutor is able to deliver an academically rewarding and interesting tutoring experience to their students. Prior to my lesson I would discuss with the student what they covered in school that week and whether there was any specific topic / thing they learnt they were confused with and want to cover. After finding out what my student is struggling with/ wishes to cover in lesson I begin to prepare a booklet of questions on that specific lesson for our upcoming lesson. What happens in the lesson - At the start of the lesson, I will do a quick 5 minute recap of what we covered last week and whether they had any questions regarding that. After that, I will upload the booklet I created with the topic specific questions my student was having issues with on to the screen. The student will be able to see this on their screen and will be able to write on this using a mouse. I will always use the first 2 questions as example questions. This means I thoroughly explain these questions to the student step by step (which they make a note of) and I communicate with them throughout to ensure they have completely understood everything. Once they have shown a solid understanding, it is time we move on to the rest of the questions I have prepared. I try not to completely guide my students through these questions like I did with the example as I want them to develop confidence in themselves.
