About Chelsea
I have 15+ years of experience in education, behavioral support, and peer mentorship, specializing in helping students with intellectual or developmental disabilities (ID/DD) develop effective study skills and learning strategies.
My background includes:
-Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certified in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), where I supported skill development and learning through structured, individualized approaches.
-Crisis Interventionist trained in trauma-informed, person-centered practices, ensuring students remain regulated and engaged during learning.
-Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist-Eligible, providing lived-experience insights and empathetic guidance.
-Experience across academic subjects, tailoring methods to fit each student’s unique strengths and needs.
I adapt my teaching to align with how each student learns best, whether through visual aids, hands-on activities, structured routines, or task breakdowns. My goal is to help you build practical skills, reduce frustration, and approach learning with clarity.

Learning isn’t about forcing a single method—it’s about finding what works for you. Together, we’ll focus on practical strategies to improve study habits, organization, and confidence.
What We’ll Focus On:
-Identifying Your Learning Style
-Assessing whether you learn best through visuals, movement, verbal explanations, or hands-on practice.
-Using structured routines, checklists, or timers to create predictability.
Breaking Down Tasks:
-Organizing assignments, tests, and projects into smaller, manageable steps.
-Implementing visual schedules or task lists to track progress.
Active Learning Techniques:
-Self-quizzing, spaced repetition, and teach-back methods to reinforce understanding.
-Multisensory approaches (e.g., drawing, movement, or interactive activities) to strengthen retention.
Creating a Supportive Study Environment:
-Designing a low-distraction, sensory-friendly space for focused work.
-Using tools to manage time, transitions, and overwhelm during study sessions.
Building Self-Awareness and Advocacy:
-Helping you recognize your strengths and challenges to advocate for your needs.
-Developing confidence in your ability to learn on your own terms.
Why This Approach Works:
-Personalized strategies that align with your strengths, not a rigid system.
-Clear, actionable steps to reduce stress and improve efficiency.
-A structured yet flexible approach tailored to your specific needs.
-Whether you’re working on organization, test preparation, or general study habits, I’ll help you build skills that last.
Ready to find a learning method that works for you? Let’s get started.

Perfect! I’m not gonna lie, school is usually an absolute nightmare for me because of my ADHD and executive dysfunction. Keeping track of anything or just trying to study for a test usually ends with me completely spiraling from anxiety. But working with Chelsea has been completely different from any teacher or school counselor I’ve ever had.Right from day one, they actually listened to me. They didn't just look at my diagnosis and assume they already knew exactly how to 'fix' me or act like they’ve worked with a million people just like me before. They took the time to understand how my specific brain works. They never forced some rigid planner on me or told me what to do. Instead, we worked together to build an organization system and a study method that actually clicks with my brain. They even went out of their way to do a bunch of research outside of our sessions just to find tools that would help me with my specific struggles. I’ve never felt so validated or supported by an educator. For the first time, I’m actually excited to keep working with them and figure out how to build my own academic confidence.
- I'm amazed and the process and love working together. Can't wait to keep it up!Chelsea's response :

FANTASTIC teacher. Patient, kind, understand, funny and supportive. Well organized and well prepared. Also huge thanks for being punctual as well.
Chelsea took the time to understand my unique learning style, tailoring each session to address my specific needs and challenges. I look forward to our upcoming sessions, confident that Chelsea will continue to be an invaluable resource in my academic endeavors.
Chelsea is an AMAZING tutor!! she seriously takes so much time and effort to really make sure your child is getting the exact help they need and tailors her tutoring and lessons as such. Having Chelsea as a tutor has made my child a much stronger writer and I will be forever grateful to her.
Chelsea is a natural born teacher, she’s extremely personable and found a way to help connect me to the subject matter at hand. Essay writing and SAT prep were never my strengths but now that I’ve been accepted to college of my choosing I can say other wise. Thank you!
Chelsea helped make essay writing and test taking so much easier. They helped me navigate my anxieties and explained solutions in ways that I’ll be sure to carry over with me for other classes. The patience they had with me made all the difference in me successfully editing and rewriting.
Chelsea genuinely cares about your well-being and success, and will take the time to ensure you’re putting your best foot forward. Chelsea assisted me with grad school application essays and I’m very happy with the results- I was able to get into 90% of the schools I applied to and I believe it’s absolutely due to Chelsea’s help. Thank you to Chelsea!
Chelsea is a hard worker with a level of emotional intelligence that really allows her to connect with others and understand their unique learning abilities.
