About Shane
I’m first and foremost a student myself - Some of the best times in my life were when I was learning from those around me. I loved science and human anatomy and pursued a career in research because of that. I was also given a great opportunity to become a teacher right out of undergrad and owe so much of my love for teaching to my first mentor, Fr Michael Allison. He saw in me that I was a teacher before I ever even thought of it as a career. I remember asking him one day why he sought me out and asked me to be a biology teacher for him and he said “well Shane… I always knew you were a teacher!” And I do think of myself as a teacher, and always will thanks to his faith in me!

My most valuable skill is the ability to communicate biology to anyone at any level. I want to start with a solid foundation and will go into details as needed. The basics of biology are integral to learning more complex ideas and I want to make sure you’re there as necessary. Beyond that, I have the training and expertise in biology to go into very specific details related to higher level biology.
